I’d love to try your service but I have some reservations. Do you offer any type of trial program?
Each studio gets half off their first album order! This way you can try the service and see if it works for you for a relatively low cost.

How does payment work?
All album designs are $4/side ($8/spread) regardless of the design style you choose. Three rounds of revisions are included in this price. Additional revisions are $50/round. A $75 deposit is due at the time of your order. The remaining balance will be billed after the finalization of the album design. We use paypal so all major credit cards are accepted.

Which album companies does your service work for?
We can design albums for any album company of your choice. You will need to know the following album specs from your company when filling out the order form:

Whether the first and last pages of the album should be full spreads (2 pages) or ½ spreads (1 page each) 
 
You have the choice of receiving your finalized layouts as flattened .jpgs or layered .psds. You can also request Photojunction .pjx files if you prefer. After downloading the files, you can then send them on to the album company of your choice.

I only offer 2 or 3 choices of albums to my clients so I’m often ordering albums with the same specs. Is there any way for you to streamline my ordering process?
When you login to place an order, you will be able to pull up any previous album orders and use the same specs. This makes the album order process easy and streamlined.

Do I need to select the exact images for the album or will you select the images as you design?
When ordering, you have the option of specifying that the album should either be an exact or approximate number of images or an exact or approximate number of spreads. For best results, we recommend specifying a number of spreads range (i.e. 25-30 spreads) and sending 150-250 images. We recommend that you specify some favorites in a “favorites” folder and then allow our designers to pick the images that work best together to create a cohesive design.

Is there a minimum or maximum album size Align will design?
Our minimum album size is 10 spreads (20 pages). There is no maximum other than the limitations provided by the album company of your choice.

My album has a photo wrap cover. Will you design it for me?
We can design your photo wrap cover* for an additional fee of $40. If your album company provides a .psd template for the cover, please include it in your zip file of images. If not, please specify the exact specs for the cover in the order form comments section. We cannot be held liable for any issues if you do not provide the proper specs. If you would like your logo on the cover design, please be sure to send that as well. 
 
*Please note that we only design photo wrap covers where the image covers the whole cover of the book and oftentimes text is included. If your album is leather with a photo cut-out, you do not need a design service. You will just need to order that through your album company and upload an image.

How should I prep my images?
Once you have placed your order using the order form, the next step is to upload your images. Please follow these instructions carefully to avoid having to re-upload: 
 
1 - Please send no more than 300 images in chronological order. 
2 - Please make sure your image file names only contain letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores.  
3 - We recommend sending your images in two folders -- favorites & additional images. If you send a favorite images folder, those images will be used as focal points for the design, so you will be more likely to love it.  
4 - You can only send up to 2GB at a time. Save your images as quality 10 .jpgs (Photoshop) or quality 92 .jpgs (Lightroom). This will not impact the quality of your images, but will cut down on image size. 
5 - Zip all your folders/images into ONE FILE before uploading. We cannot receive multiple files. Name the file using this convention: "your studio_client's first names".

How should I send my images to you?
*Make sure to first prep your images by following the instructions under the above question. 
 
You can send your zipped file of images to us any number of ways: 
1 - You can send your images to us by clicking here: https://dropbox.yousendit.com/Align. Please include your studio name and the first names of the bride & groom in the subject line. We suggest only using this method if you have a very strong internet connection. 
2 - If you have You Send It or Dropbox, you can send your images to us at info@alignalbumdesign.com. Please include your studio name and the first names of the bride & groom in the subject line. 
3 - You can FTP them to our server. FTP login information will be provided on the screen after you fill out your order form and pay your deposit. After FTP is completed, you will need to email info@alignalbumdesign.com to notify us that your images are on our server. Please include the exact name of the zipped file in the body of the email.  
 
Once we receive your images, a designer will contact you via email.

What happens after I place my album order?
You will be assigned a designer for each order – they will be in touch via email to let you know they are working on your design and when you can expect to receive your first draft.

How long can I expect to wait for the first draft?
We complete all album designs in 4 business days or less.

How many rounds of revisions do I get?
For each album order, you get up to 3 rounds of revisions included in the price. And whenever you send in your revisions, they will be done in 2 business days or less. We recommend using the first round to make your own changes to the album and then using the 2nd and 3rd rounds for your client. Our album proofing system does not use our logo, so your client will not see our branding anywhere on the design. If you need more than 3 rounds of revisions, we charge $50 per additional round.

What if my client is taking forever to make their revisions? Do you have a policy for how long you keep the design open?
You have three months from the time of your order to finalize your album design. At the three month mark, you will have the option to pay the balance on your album design and keep your order open, or it will be purged from the system at that time. If you pay the balance on your order but don't finalize it, we will keep your album design on file for up to one year and then it will be purged from our system.

Do you offer other services like color correction or placing my album order through the album company of my choice?
No, the only service we offer at this time is album design. We do one thing, and we do it well -- both affordably and quickly.
