Romantic Puerto Vallarta Wedding by Gina Meola Photography
You've gotta check out the album design for this gorgeous destination wedding captured by San Francisco based photographer Gina Meola. As we've mentioned before, Align can customize designs using any style preferences you OR your album company communicate. In this case, Gina was ordering a Fine Art album from West Coast Albums, which requires a 1 inch margin around all sides of each page. Our Classic design style typically includes images occasionally bleeding off the page edges, but never fear, we can customize! We love how the extra white space gives this album a super-clean aesthetic -- it's a work of art!

Chic Winter Wedding by Henry Photography
Ok, I'm going to admit something to you guys... I've been married for more than two years but I still love surfing Pinterest for beautiful wedding photographs and ideas. I cling to the explanation that I'm "pinning for a friend" so that it seems less silly. haha! Imagine my excitement when I randomly ran across a gorgeous Henry Photography wedding photograph on Pinterest that looked oh-so-familar because I'd used it in a wedding album design! I know Pinterest is flooded with images from our mega-talented clients, but this was the first time I'd personally ran across one without trying! It was so cool to have an unexpected crossover between my job and my free-time hobby! I already had a fondness for this album design, but now I'm even more excited to show it off!
Coty and Ashley of Henry Photography are an Ohio-based husband and wife photography duo that specializes in fine art weddings. We feel so fortunate that they asked us to design this album for a modern wedding in downtown Columbus. Although Ashley asked for our Simple Design style (1-4 images per spread) on her original order form, she clarified that some spreads (such as the reception) could have more than 4 images on it. Perfect example of how we can customize your design based on style preferences that you communicate!

And here's what she has to say about outsourcing her album designs to Align....
As a Los Angeles Wedding photographer in a highly competitive market I knew I needed to take steps to set me apart from other professional photographers in my area. Speed has always been an important part of my workflow and by putting a large sneak peek (150+ images) on my blog within days of my client's weddings I had definitely attained my goal. But when I introduced albums into my Collections I slowed down.. wayyyy down. I don't enjoy album design at all. Designing a 30 page album would take me weeks and fill my work days with dread!
Then I found Align Album Design. By sending Align my blog sneak peek images days after the wedding, not only was I able to deliver all of my client's wedding images within 7 days, but their album design as well. The entire process from shooting a wedding to final album delivery now takes about a month. During my crazy wedding season, that is invaluable! I'm able to spend more time doing what I love - spoiling my clients, spending time with my husband - and less time sitting in front of a computer feeling like my eyes were falling out of my head.

One of the tips I have for other photographers is to select the images for the the first album draft yourself. I've found that by sending Align the images I've already selected for my blog sneak peek, I eliminate the client's tough job of trying to select 75-100 images. They're so emotionally attached to each image that it wasn't uncommon in the beginning for me to receive too many photos on their "must have" list or an uneven ratio of photos (50 preparation photos but only 3 reception detail photos). So by telling my clients the story of their day as I see it, it saves a TON of time for everyone involved.
Another strategy that has enhanced my Align Album Design experience is to always request the same designer - I just write her name in the notes section of my order form! Align keeps my personal design preferences on file so that any designer I work with will know my style, but because I now work with Andrea for every order, that girl knows what I want even when I don't and has been such a blessing to my business!
Thanks, Align! xoxo Becca

Thanks for sharing your story and advice, Becca! We love helping you achieve your speedy turnaround goals!
We recently designed an album for Becca which tells her client's beautiful story -- from pregnancy, to birth, to baby! Becca was kind enough to send us photos of the printed album she received from Nations Photo Lab. We LOVE seeing the final product!

The album starts with some gorgeous maternity photos...

Sophisticated Outdoor Wedding by Ashleigh Taylor
Simply gorgeous!! I love this album design featuring images by Santa Barbara based photographer Ashleigh Taylor. Ashleigh describes her style as "glamorous yet genuine" and that's exactly what I see when I look at the photography in this album design. She highlighted the sophistication of the winery venue while also capturing the day's emotions in every smile, laugh, and loving look.
