Sharon Elizabeth is one of our favorites. Truth be told, we have a lot of favorite photographers here at Align. But she's one of them. Sharon has been partnering with us for album design since our early days -- back in 2013 -- and we have done 50 album designs for her over the years. She's always lovely, always kind, and sends us such dreamy, joy-filled images. She's also one of our Client Advocates. Today's featured design tells the story of a joy-filled wedding day set in the early days of the pandemic. This couple, against all odds, solidified their commitment to one another and now they have stunning albums printed by Leather Craftsmen to tell the story of how their love conquered all in the infamous year of 2020. We love how this album design turned out and are so excited to share it with you today!

Joe Mac is a Philadelphia based wedding photographer who clearly has a great talent for both photography (and all the complexities that come with it) AND for capturing the hearts and personalities of his clients. We feel blessed to be able to work with him to showcase his stunning work in album form.  
 
Today's featured album design tells the story of a couple who were wed in Rittenhouse Square in the midst of the lockdowns. We were especially drawn in to the intimate reception, all of the beautiful details, and the way Joe showed off the location throughout his images.

Justin Douglas was not only a client of Align's for the past 8 years, he was also a dear personal friend. I first met Justin when he reached out to me via email after moving to Phoenix from Austin. He was an up and coming film photographer who was eager to learn and network. We met up for lunch and I knew I wanted to be friends with him instantly. His energy was so positive, his smile lit up his whole face, and he was so encouraging -- a total charmer. Our friendship developed from there -- he assisted me and loaded film at my weddings for a little over a year, even though he was far too talented to do so. He came to church with me a number of times and we had many meaningful conversations about how God was working in our lives. When I was pregnant with our little guy Beau, he offered to gift us a maternity shoot on film in the desert. I will forever cherish those photos.  
 
The last contact I had with Justin was an email I received from him just 8 days before his death and it was a link to download the photos below for this album design feature. I can't believe he is gone. Justin passed away on a lake in a boat/swimming accident. The wedding industry has been rocked by the news. He was so young and such a bright light and he will truly be missed.  
 
It's so hard for me to even write this post because I so deeply don't want it to be true. But I wanted to honor Justin and his memory by sharing what I knew of him and how he impacted me. I believe this is one of the best ways to grieve. 
 
Justin was excited to share this album that we recently completed for him, so I want to do that now. He was truly talented.  
 
This album is a 12x12 Align Legacy Book covered in our Cobblestone Linen with clear debossing on the front. It turned out so beautifully and I know Justin's clients will cherish it forever!

We were thrilled when Michigan-based photographer Kayla Bouren reached out to us to help her design and print a sample album! She sent us the most beautiful set of images from a Portland Elopement set in the woods. The boho gown, details, and color palette of corals, pinks and browns drew us in instantly.  
 
Sometimes it can be tough to pick which wedding or shoot to feature in your sample album, but Kayla did a great job picking a favorite that really exemplifies her style. (Click here to read some of our tips on how to choose which wedding to feature in your sample album!) I'm sure this album will help her to sell many more!

So as hinted at by the title of this blog post -- today's featured album design is EXTRA special.  
 
That's because the bride and groom featured in it are our very dear clients -- Tara & Stephen of Pattengale -- and their wedding was shot by our very dear client -- acclaimed Virginia-based photographer Tori Watson.  
 
Yep -- a photographer's wedding shot by a photographer and all of them a part of the Align family! Queue the goosebumps and warm fuzzies! 
 
We have been anticipating the opportunity to share this very special design with you for quite some time and are so excited to do so today!! 
 
Tara was such a stunning bride, Stephen looked so dapper, and Tori -- a long-time friend of Tara & Stephen's -- did an exceptional job capturing their Richmond, Virginia wedding. And we... honestly feel so blessed to work with and know all of them. Cream of the crop, kind and talented humans -- all of them.
